At Priestley LGV Training, our courses are tailored to suit the individual. Some drivers are already experienced with larger vehicles and will probably need less hours behind the wheel than those who have only driven a car or small van.

Step-by-step guide to becoming a truck driver
- Download a D4 medical form - Click on 'Drivers Medicals' on our associations and links
page for this.
- Request a provisional LGV licence application form from the DVSA - link on our website. (Or collect from Priestley LGV Training)
- Take your medical at either your own doctor or the clinics we recommend - fill in your D2 form requesting category C/C+E and send this and the completed D4 form to the DVSA.
- When your licence comes back with provisional entitlement for LGV Categories then book and pass your theory test, Hazard Perception Test and Mod 2 Case Studies Test in the theory test centre (Tel:- 0300 200 1122 to book your nearest centre)
- Then you are ready to take your chosen training course with Priestley LGV Training
